The Britnell name can also be derived from the BRUDENELL surname. I have come across a few cases where the Brudenell surname has been simplied to Britnell (and Brutnel, Brutnil etc).
Also with the Oxfordshire location, I understand that some previous generations of the family did originate in that area.
