Hello Angelica,
My maternal grandfather was also Brito, we are from Cuba. All I know is that they had old testament names like Moises, Eliecer, Abel, Rachel, etc. My grandfather said before he passed away that they were Turcos. My mother and her family look Arab or Middel Eastern. I read somewhere that the customs they had were Sephardic and not Arab but I have no proof of this. Hope this helps.

Take care,
Gustavo
