Hello I don't know if this will help you at all but I have just found that my maternal greatgrandmother was Jane Britten, from Lambeth, parish of St. Mary.(then in Surrey, now in Greater London)She married in 1869, when she was under 21. Her father was Joseph Britten, a mechanic. It might just give you an area to look in.
