Thank you, Cathy, for responding. I am aware of the immigration of Robert from Lanark, but that's a whole different line, and they arrived about 150 years after John of New Haven and William of Norfolk. The real problem with "my" southern Brocketts is that books (and email gedcoms) have been published with false information, and the authors (those living) simply refuse to admit error. They are, it appears, enamored of the notion of armorial bearings, knights, etc., etc. This is bad, because when they are dead their work will survive, and researchers a hundred years from now will pick it up and believe it, just as they now do with E.J. Brockett's book. .They will then fill their own genealogies with that rotten fruit and will publish more erroneous books.
