Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

I also have a copy of the Brockett Genealogy.
It has been around for a hundred years, but it is a poor piece of work. What it says, and what Madsen says, about the ancestry of John Brockett of New Haven is wrong. We don't yet know who John's parents were, but it is 99.99% certain that he was not descended from the line of Sir John Brockett.
Dr. Adrian Brockett of England, the most knowledgeable Brockett genealogist in the world, is going to publish a new chart to replace the "Gateshead Pedigree" which accompanied E.J.'s book when it was published. I have seen Adrian's chart, and it shows beyond any doubt that John of New Haven was not descended from Sir John. In fact, he was most probably from a line of yeoman farmers in Bedfordshire.
The only reason I am sending this note is because I saw several of your postings on Genforum, and I am sure you wouldn't want to publish false information. I hope you will
tell your correspondents about this.
