Hi Mary,
I just located your msg re: Brockett Family Bible.
I am a descendent of Anna (Balch) Brockett who married
Chauncy Brockett. My maiden name was Balch. Anna had a
son (Danford Balch) before she married Brockett. I am
curious to know if there is any mention of him in the Bible
and his parentage. Unfortunately, Danford (Danforth) Balch
was hung in Portland, Oregon, 10/1859 and left and family of
9 children. It's a very sad story. He had a large DLC in
Portland and his oldest daughter, also named Anna (for his
Mother) eloped and he didn't like the guy so went after his
daughter and accidentally shot her new husband. In his family history, he tells of his Mother (Anna) marrying Chauncy Brockett when he was about 4 years old. It never says who is father was and we suspect that maybe she was unwed at his birth. Would appreciate any information on Anna that may be in the Bible.
Appreciate your time and effort in posting your message.
