Timothy Brockett was born 10 Feb. 1842 in Jefferson co., NY, son of Thomas and Abigail Brockett. He went to Mexico, Oswego Co., NY for his education. In 1862 his parents moved to Parish, Oswego Co., NY. He married in 1866 Charlotte Lyon. They have had 5 children: Ira, Benjamin, John, Willard, and Harrison. During the Civil War Timothy enlisted in the 184th NY Vols. in June 1864 and served to the end. He was part of the Shenandoah Valley fighting with General Sheridan.
In the 1880 census for Parish, Oswego Co., NY Timothy, farmer, age 28 with wife, Charlott [sic] age 32 & children: Ira, age 11; Benj. age 10; and his mother, Abigail, age 69. They were all b. NY.
