Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Mr Madsen's work (which I have reviewed) has been superseded by the Broket Archive by Prof. Adrian Brockett of the UK.
The entire archive, including a recent update concerning the New Haven immigrant, is on the website (www.brockett.info). The archive is an extraordinary example of genealogical professionalism at its best and shows conclusively that laudatory though Mr Madsen's research may have been, his basic premise was incorrect. arwen
