From the 1850 Census, it looks like Munson was born in 1785 in New York. There are no Brocketts on the 1790 Census, but I found some Bracketts.
Jared Brackett, Balls Town, Albany, NY 1790
John Brackett, Canaan, Columbia, NY 1790
Nathaniel Brackett, South Hempstead, Queens, NY 1790
These are probably all Brocketts.
Anyway, they are possibilities for Munson's father.
