peter - bob Squires and zoe tom and I have been corresponding about the errors in the brockett genealogy and what to do about them. the info bob sent i believe comes from edward brockett's brockett genealogy which has many errors. i have been using Families of Ancient New Haven by Donald Lines Jacobus published 1923 because he references every single source next to the birthdates etc. i have also been over to north haven and looked at original records and gravestones. bob and i are trying to figure out how to get the correct info out there. according to jacobus: Moses Brockett ( b. 23 apr 1680) had two wives the first ann grannis ( m. jan 8, 1706). ann and silence were her daughters. the second wife of moses was lydia humiston ( m. 1712) they had 10 kids. she is the wife who died in 1742. the kids attributed to her and moses in the brockett genealogy (samuel born 1714/15, benjamin born 1716 and ebenezer) are the kids of moses's brother samuel and his wife mehitable hill. this info is also borne out on the LDS website if you check really carefully. as i told bob i am going to try to get back over to north haven soon and see if i can turn up any data that will settle this matter. in the meantime see if you can find the jacobus book. yours penny
