Hi, Beth,
I don't think that we are related to the Brandts you asked about, but it's not impossible. My husband's grandfather, Louis Brandt, came to America about 1849. He was 20 yrs. old, living in Cincinnati Ohio in 1850, married and living in Blue Island, Illinois (now a part of Chicago)in 1860. Next move was to Glencoe, McLeod Co., MN. Came to Spokane WA about 1887. Louis came to America with a brother who stayed in Cincinnati and did ornamental iron work, however, and I have not been able to find him. My husband thought the brother's name was William, but he wasn't sure.
As for the Brodes: I am descended from Jeremiah Brode, Peter's brother and I would love to share information with you.
