Have records of name spelled both ways. Need info ref. Mary Jane Brogdon (or Brogden), born about 1837, place unknown, and died 3/5/1895, buried at Bullard Cemetary, Rock Creek, Okaloosa County, FL. Had two children: John Brogdon, the eldest, and James (Jim) Burgess Brogdon, my grandfather, born 1869, probably in south Alabama, and died 1941 in Covington County, AL. The family lived in Munson/Baker areas of Florida, and possibly Brewton/Andalusia areas of Alabama. Jim, my grandfather, worked sawmills and railroad and played the fiddle. He was married to the former Mattie Idele Alford of Escambia County, AL, and they had four children, Lillie Belle, Sellers, Rankin, and Mary Lou, all now deceased. Appreciate any info. We don't have much to go on. Thank you.
