Do you have names of the children of James C. and Mary Brogdon/Brogden?I have seen both spellings on various documents of my Grandmother's family.
I'm looking for my g-grandfather, William A.J. Brogdon b. Feb 22, 1844-SC??.
Served in CSA MS 5th Cavalry-died at Soldier's Home in Biloxi MS.
He married Celeste Emma Haslip and lived in Butler Co. AL; subsequently lived and buried in Perry Co. MS.Their children are:
Joseph b. 1871
Wilson b. 1873
Genia b. 10/27/1874
Green Talbert b. 10/12/1876
Liddie L. b. 9/29/1879
Herbert Leonos?? b. 9/9/1882
Marvin M. b. 6/25/1885 (lived in Butler Co. AL)
Annie Loretta b. 4/20/1888 (my Grandmother)
Viola M. b. 2/28/1891
Bertha E. b. 3/03/1893
Pearl M. b. 6/09/1897
Thought this may be his family as he named his second son "Wilson"....possibly after his mother's maiden name??
I noticed on a (partial) 1850 Butler Co. AL Census a family who may be them:
James Brogden30 M Farmer 400SC
Mary24 FAL
William 6 M(could be born in 1844 my g-grandpa??)
George 4 M
Lucy1 F
Also on same census:
William Brogden52 M FarmerSC
Frances52F
Ann18 F
Martha7 F
Are these the correct Brogden/Brogdon families you refer to in your posts?
I do have some names of the descendants, but no specific documentation to date.
Thanks for any information.
Marie
