Hi John, My maiden name is Bromley. Just wondering if we are related. Check out the following information and see if it ties in with your family.

My father was Josiah Bromley born in 1912 he was the youngest of 9 children. They were Robert,John, Gilbert (died in infancy) Elsie, Clifford, Annie (still living),Bertha and Emma. They lived at Manor Farm,Knowles Lane, Ashton-under Lyne. His father (my grandfather) was also named Josiah and is listed on the 1881 Census as Jessie aged 10.
Listed on the census was my great Grandfather John Bromley aged 55 his wife Bridget (maiden name unknown) aged 45 and their children as follows:
William Male aged 25 born 1856
Alice A F 22 born 1859
Emma F 20 born 1861
Arthur M 17 born 1864
John E. M 15 born 1866
Mary E. F 13 born 1868
JESSIE M 10 born 1871 (My Great grandfather Josiah)
Albert M 8 born 1873
(There may have been other siblings not living at the address at that time)
They all lived at No. 5 Milking Green, Ashton-under-Lyne.
FreeBMD search confirmed that JESSIE was in fact registered as JOSIAH born March 1871 Feel free to e-mail me any time on irene_skill@hotmail.com That goes for anyone else who has a connection with the above. Best Wishes Irene
