Ed....I too have for quite some time been trying to find the ancestry of Anne Robbins (abt 1741 to 1823) who is married to Israel Brumley before 1761. I haven't found anything that provides a name of a father but have found the following on Caleb Robbins who I also believe must be in some way related to Anne Robbins. From the Bromley Genealogy by Viola Bromley: "On March 31, 1769, Israel Brumbly of Preston, CT, sold 62 acres, partly in Hopkinton and partly in Exeter, RI, to CALEB ROBBINS of Exeter, and Anne Brumley, wife to said Israel, gave up all right of dower and power of thirds in said land; the witnesses to the deed were David Stanton and RICHARD ROBBINS; they also sold another tract on June 25, 1769." This references a Caleb Robbins and a Richard Robbins. Rhode Island Genealogical Register, Volume 8 No. 2, Abstracts Exeter Wills, Pages 165 & 166: Robbins, Caleb, of Exeter, yeoman. Will dated 6 June 1779, proved 6 Sept. 1779, pgs 70-72. Mentions: Wife Jemimah Robbins. Sons Benoni Robbins eldest, Thomas Robbins 2nd, Samuel Robbins 3rd, & Joseph Robbins 4th. Daughters Elizabeth Eggleston eldest, Mary Tanner 2nd, Abijah Robbins 3rd, Rachel Robbins 4th, Welthan Robbins and Marcy Robbins both under age. Witnesses: John Crandall, George Willcox, and William Wilkinson. Another land record found in Rhode Island Genealogical Register, Volume 20, Abstracts of Exeter, Rhode Island Land Evidence, page 314 Caleb Robbins of Exeter yeoman for 15 Spanish milled silver dollars to Edward Wells of Hopkinton yeoman 200A land bounded: flat river, Jeremiah Haszard, Samuel Watson, higway. And another 20A land bounded: formerly to William Ellery, lately Benjamin Robins, highways David Stanton w/a dwelling housel And another 65A land in Exeter and Hopkinton bounded: Barber, David Randal, lately William Ellery, Richard Robins, David Stanton, highway. dtd & ack 30 April 1770, rec 21 May 1770. Signed: Caleb Robins, Wtn: Jeffry Champlin Jr., Edward Perry" This entry shows a Caleb Robbins, Benjamin Robins and Richard Robbins all in Rhode Island in 1770. The Census for the State of Rhode Island 1774 shows the following: Caleb Robbins: 1 male under 16, 2 males over 16; 2 females under 16, 3 females over 16 - total 8 Benoni Robbins: 1 male over 16; 1 female under 16, 1 female over 16 - total 3 Bethia Robins: 1 male under 16, 1 male over 16; 1 female under 16, 3 females over 16 - total 6 Richard Robins: 1 male under 16, 1 male over 16; 1 female over 16 - total 3 That's all the information I've been able to find on Caleb and any other Robbins in Rhode Island around mide to late 1700's. Nothing that connects to Anne and I can't find anything that indicates a father for Caleb - unless the father might be Richard. Hope maybe you have done some further research and found something that I haven't that might tie in with above. Please contact me if you have further information. Thanks.
