Will of William Brooker:(sic)
In the name of God Amen I William Brooker being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be almighty God for the same do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following. Viz First I give and bequeath to my beloved wife mary Brooker all my lands and my plantation where I now live with all my stock and plantation tools household and kitchen furniture with all my movable and perishable property to be hers during her natural life or widowhood and at her death or marriage to be equally divid between my six children secondly I give. and bequeath to my son Joseph and daughter Mary two dollars each thirdly after all my just debts is paid whatever may be over and above paying them that balance to be put at interest until my youngest child comes of ful age then to be equally dividwith the above land and other property between my six children Viz William. Henry. Sarah Ann. John. Hamilton Preston and Edward. And I now appoint Jesse Miller and John Brooker senior executors of this my last will and tistament herby revoking all former will by me made. In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this fourteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six. - William his X mark Brooker(LS)
