I have an Artimas Brookins 1757-1824 NY. Son of Phillip 1737-1835. My Brookins family spent the 1800s in Chenango County, NY.
My great grandmother was Jenette Brookins 1845 who married Asahel Paul. Her father was Fredric Brookins 1803, son of Artimas. There was a book written about 1900 by Edward J. Paul (Asahel Paul collaborated on this work) about the Paul family, that had a lot of Brookins information in it. The book is in several historical societies. My copy came from Old Colony Historical Society in Taunton, Mass. It is also online by the LDS as American Family Paul.
Jenette was obviously part Indian-family tradition says Mohiccan, but I can't find anything on this.
I am also not convinced that there is not another generation between Artimas and Phillip, as some have Phillip's death 20 years before Artimas birth.
