My great-grandmother was Philomenia (Phebe) Brousseau. She married George Messier (Macia/Machia/Macha) in MA in 1867. He also served in the Civil War from VT. Family lore has it that George met his wife through her brothers (they had known each other possibly before and during the Civil War). Do you know where in Vermont they were from??? There is a website for all the soldiers that served in the Civil War in Vermont. Did you check that out for information on Sirel Brusseau???
