I wonder if anyone knows who contributed the information in the Mormon International Genealogical Index for the surname Brusou which looks to be a variant of Brosseau/Brousseau/Brusseau? The information was added to the IGI by patron submission rather than extraction sometime in 1972 (on the 231st day if my interpretation of the batch number is correct). The information, rather unusually, refers to census data rather than births, baptisms or marriages. It appears, however, to be quoting the birth year calculated from the age of each person named presumably in the census (perhaps the state census of 1845). There are 7 entries of children of Francis Brusou listed against the description census, Ausable twp, Clinton, NY, with dates between 1823 and 1842, viz.: 1.Sarah Brusou census 1823 2.Antwine Brusou census 1829 3.Peter Brusou census 1831 4.Mary Brusou census 1835 5.Lewis Brusou census 1837 6.Frederick Brusou census 1840 7.Margaret Brusou census 1842 Has anyone any idea of who was researching this family or who contributed this data and from what source? In addition, I wonder if, with some disagreements in dates, if this Francis Brusou is not the same as the Francis Brusso mentioned in the 1850 census of Parishville, St Lawrence county, New York (p. 123B)? Some of the names overlap, while others accord with previously uncorroborated family data.
