I might be able to help with your Brousseau line of Columbia, CT.
My great-grandmother was Philomene "Brousseau" Messier/Macia/Machia/Macha. She died around 1900-1901 in either CT or MA. Her father was listed on her marriage record as being Louis Brousseau (mother's name not listed). There is only 5 years difference between Philomene and the Louis I've found. The reason I've gathered the information is because this family lived in the same areas at the very same time my relatives did.
Just recently I came across an obituary of Leocardie Brousseau. She was living in Columbia, CT with her son Louis. She had 12 children. My great-grandparents had 16 children. Most of the other Brousseaus I've come across have had similiar numbers. I have gathered some information about the Brousseau family and am planning to add more as my time will allow. I'm not sure if Elizabeth is a grandchild of Leocardie, but probably. The family was huge. Do you have anything else at all about them? I will check the vital records to see what I can find.
