BRUBAKER/AUMAN Juniata Co. PA

Hello!
Even though I'm a descendant of Michael Auman and Mary Ann Straub (Stroup) of Juniata Co. (McAlisterville), PA, I've just discovered that the name Brubaker figures into my family in one way - adoption. From what I've found out, Michael Auman died in 1857, and his wife Mary Ann in 1860. Their children - Cathryn, Fianna (my g/g/grandmother, who would have been aged ten at her mother's death), Jacob, Lucien, Michael, and Wilson Edward (age about fifteen when orphaned) - were all young when their parents died, and I'm beginning to suspect they were adopted by either family members or other families. According to another descendant, Wilson Edward Auman (m. Emma Caroline Dennis) was raised by a Brubaker family in the Mifflintown/McAlisterville PA area. I've hit a dead end in regards to this family, and also to the fact of whether or not any of the other Auman children were taken in by these Brubakers.
Thank you! Hope someone may be able to help! :)

-Stacey E. Henry
