Bruene/Brune from Prussia to Kansas City
I am looking for information on John Henry Bruene. He came to the US (New Orleans) in 1854 with his, I guess you could call it, fiancee, Christina Horstman, and her family. When they arrived in New Orleans, his name was misspelled from Bruene to Brune, but to this day it is still pronounced as "Brooney".He and Christina were married in 1856 in Ohio, and then they moved with her family to Greensburg IN and finally to Wyandotte County, KS by 1870 at the latest. His papers were signed out of Hannover (Hanover...sp?), then part of Old Prussia, by the then King of Prussia. This and the assumption that he was born in 1838 happen to be the only info I have.I don't know if he had brothers or sisters, who his parents were, where he was born, anything.
Anyone who might have any information, PLEASE e-mail me!!My address is [email protected], and much of this information can be found on my family genealogy web page at http://ishibabe.homepage.com/pages/_familyhttp://ishibabe.homepage.com/pages/_family.
Thank you!!
Trisha
