Mr. Bruffey was a very special man. I knew him as a child. The last time I saw him he had to be in his ninties and was riding a big belgin horse as his saddle horse. Several years prior to that he walked to my grandfathers house carring his dog. He had been walking along the road with his dog (I don't remember him having a vehicle) and a truck came up behind him, he didn't hear the truck and the dog knocked him out of the road but was hit and killed. He carried the dog to my grandfathers house crying all the way. My grandfather bandaged his hand and took him home to bury his dog. I guess he made quite an impression on my at a young age. He always told me to read everything and learn as much as possible. He was quite a gentleman.
