John Bruffey at Valley Forge with Generals Wayne and Washington

I found "John Bruffey" listed at the www.geocities.com/descvalleyforge web site. I think this probably be the John who married Elinor MacDonald and settled in western Virginia. Reasons are 1) family lore that he served under General Anthony Wayne, who was from Pennsylvania 2)a Pennsyl. archive roll of Revolutionary War soldiers also lists John Bruffey, and 3) the other Bruffeys were already down in Virginia, and so were less likely to be serving up north. Does any one else have any other cites or theories?
