Barbara, your post is pretty old so don't know if you're still researching. Anyhow, I'm a lineal descendant of John Bruffey I and Eleanor McDonald. My family has done extensive research on this line and have more or less complete and authenticated records. John I was born 1752 in Tyrone, Ulster Province, Ireland. He died 1807 in Pocahontas County and is buried in McNeel Cemetery. He married Elinor/Eleanor ("Nellie") McDonald between 1781 and 1782 in Virginia, now WVA. She was born about 1765 in Scotland and died in 1825 in Virginia and is buried in their son Patrick's family cemetery. There is a headstone for John noting that he was a "Soldier of the Revolution under General Wayne." We have confirmed this. John I and Nellie's children: John II-1788, Patrick-1785, Mark-1791, Robert Cashman Bruffey-1787, James B.-1789,Nancy S. Williams-1810. If you're still looking for info, contact me. Regards, Bev
