Hi Carol,

According to the Ky. Vital Stat. of Franklin Co., Edith was calling herself Mary Shackelford on the birth of her and John Brumley's dau., Susan Brumley.b.April 9,1859. John B.is from Shelby and Edith or Mary from Franklin Co.I don't know who Issac would be but John Shackelford, my gg-grandfather, married his 3rd. wife, Maria Lindell, from Shelby Co. on Jan. 23, 1864.They are living in Shelby Co. in the 1870 Census.
John Brumley had a dau. Susan, but John Shackelford had a wife Susan.
Also, there was another John Shackelford from Shelby Co. in about the same time period.This has caused me many headaches.

Although I have quite a bit on this family, there are still many unanswered questions.
