Daniel and first wife Martha Brumley, we believe, had nine children. Martha died in 1827 in childbirth with their ninth child/daughter, Martha E. Cook, whom survived. Daniel and second wife, Jemima Kennerly had eight children. Daniel and Jemima lived 20 years of their marriage in NC., then moved to Union Co, Illinois about 1847/48, where they lived the rest of their lives. Daniel and Martha (Brumley) Cook's son Joseph Cook Jr. b-1819 was ...aka Little Joe. His second wife Leah Elizabeth Cook's maiden name was also Cook. Her parent's names were Joseph Cook Sr., b-1810 and wife Sarah Blackwelder, b-1810. Joseph Cook Jr., went by Junior and Little Joe because his father-in-law's name was also Joseph Cook. His father-in-law also went by Joseph Cook Sr. We are trying to find a bloodline connection. We know that Joseph Cook Sr.'s grandfather was Nicholas Koch Sr., b-1720/25-Germany. Nicholas Koch Sr's two wives were, Dorothy Behringer/Barringer and Dorothy Bernhardt/Barnhardt,in that order, both born in Germany, both immigrated to the United States. Nicholas Koch Sr.,immigrated/arrived in the U.S.in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1737 where he lived for about 27 years and had three sons, Nicholas Koch Jr,b-1756, Jacob Koch and Joseph Koch in his first marriage. Nicholas Koch Sr.'s first wife died 1759 or 1760. With his second wife, he moved to the northeastern part of Mecklenburg Co, NC., in 1764 and had two more sons,John A. Cook and Mathias Cook. The youngest son, Mathias Cook, b-1770 was the father of Joseph Cook Sr., b-1810 and Joseph Cook Sr., was the father-in-law of Joseph Cook Jr., b-1819, who married his daughter Leah Elizabeth Cook.
