This is v interesting - my family descended from a John Ramsay of Peebles and a Mary Brunton of Selkirk - I see that Innerleithen lies directly between these towns. They emigrated to South Africa in 1858 with 6 children, sponsored by a Walter Brunton, who had emigrated earlier.

This Margaret was born around 1828, and was related to Elize Brunton (b +- 1832) and Jane Brunton (b +- 1838), all in Selkirk.
