I am looking to verify the parents of Lowdon Brunton a marine engine fitter who was born in 1838.Sunderland. He was married to a Mary H.? and in 1901 had their son and grandchildren registered at their house. The son was Henry b. 1869, and the grandchildren were
Robert E. Brunton b. 1891
Alfred Brunton b. 1893.
Mary b. 1893.
Their other children were
Eliza J b. 1862
Robert b. 1867
James b. 1871. I don't know who the parents of these children were.
In 1881 they were living at 16 Cornhill Terrace, Southwick Durham. (His name is down as London Brunton which I think is a mistake)
Robert married a woman called Isabella, and was living in Middlesbrough in 1901 with her. Whether they divorced or she died I don't know but he was with my grandmother Maud Ethel Sankey in 1910 and they had about 16 children, although they never married and all the children were given Brunton as a middle name.
I have found the marriage of a Lowdon Brunton to Elizabeth Smith Trotter on the 5th May 1835 at St. Peter's Monkswearmouth Durham. I think these will be Lowdon's parents. If anyone can help verify these things I would appreciate it. If anyone is tracing any of these links I would like to compare notes.

Thanks June Ann Kay.
