My greatgrandmother's real name was spelled Brewington. She was Mary Jane Brewington Smith Butts. There are several misspellings due to southern and english accents. Brewington was pronouonced Brunton.

She Married Jacob Riley Smith and when he died she later married Earl Butts and was known by my dad as Grannie Butts.
