1800's. Brunton's to Ohio from where?

I have been researching my different surnames for many years and keep hitting some wall on a few of them. I have found an unconfirmed line to my Brunton's but haven't been able to find what country they departed from. If anyone has any connection to the George Brunton m. Elizabeth Sheffler/Stiffler Jackson county, Jackson, Ohio around the middle 1800's and you have an idea of the country, I would appreciate any direction you give me.

Even though most of the information I have is unconfirmed, I will share with you. What I do have that is confirmed is the information my grandmother wrote down before she died. Her mother was Eliza Ann Brunton m. Samuel Cross. late 1800's.
