I have Mjr Richard William Bryarly as married to Hannah Rust & their daughter's name as Hannah Cox Bryarly-Dunbar. Mjr. Richard William was born c. 1751 & died in March of 1839 in West Virginia. The most comprehensive source I have for this family is "The Annals of Clarke County, Virginia," by Stuart E. Brown Jr. It was printed in 1983, but is unfortunately already out of print.
There is also a letter from
Stampp, Kenneth M., 1999, "Records of Ante-Bellum Southern Plantations from the Revolution through the Civil War: Series F, Selections from the Rare Book, Manuscript, and Special Collections Library, Duke University, Part 4: North Carolina and Virginia Plantations: Samuel Bryarly Papers, 1787-1884, Frederick County, Virginia," Duke University: Bethesda, MD, p. 870.
The letter is addressed to Mrs Hannah Cox (Bryarly) Dunbar in Winchester, Virginia from her brother, Thomas Bryarly in Berkeley County, West Virginia, dated 27 July 1823; it mentions Uncle Robert Bryarly, Hannah's Son - John Richard (Dunbar), cousin Mary Ann Ware, their "Father" (Richard William Bryarly), and Grandmother.
I have posted the descendants & ancestors I have been able to locate for this line at:
I hope this information will be of assistance to you.
Mark Morrow (Bryarly descendant & researcher)
