Looking for Bubeck in USA and Germany
My mother was a born Bubeck and I am doing some research about our genealogy for my aunt, also a Bubeck.
We were born near Stuttgart and still live in Germany.
We know that the family was situated for centuries in Rothenberg/ Wuerttemberg, which today is a part of Stuttgart.
There is a theory that the family had to ecape from Prag to Wuerttemberg during the upheavals by a group of Protestants, the so-called Hussites (or Bohemian Brethren or Taborites)( after Jan Hus, an early protestant theologian who was burned at stake considered to be a heretic in 1420).
I found some hints on the internet that lots of Bubecks emigrated to the USA in the 19th century.
I am very curious to hear of any Bubecks in USA or Germany. If you have any information, please email me.
