from R Robert Mutrie's book:
- The following appeared in the 'Christian Guardian' newspaper, June 8, 1842: 'Died. May 30th, on Lyon's Creek, in joyful hope of everlasting life, Capt Henry Buchner, Senior - a man universally revered and loved, an intimate friend of the late Rev George Neill's, and for half a century an honourable member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church.'
(Note: Rev Neill founded a Methodist Church in Ontario)
- After Henry died, Catherine went to Bayham Township to live with her daughter, Sarah Ostrander
- Henry was a farmer
- John Ostrander and family lived next door
