Hi: Read your message as I have been checking Buckman's from KY that were in KS and then AZ. I have been checking an article in the Arizona Highways. There is a story about John J. Buckman 56,a KY born Farmer, who served in the Civil War with the 6th Regiment of the Kansas Volunteer Cavalry until discharged at Fort Scott, Kansas, in July 1862. He and his wife Sarah 39, b. IN (her parents KY & IN) along with Thad, and John J. and another child, plus Mary born 1865 in AZ. I think Thad may have been a child from a previous marriage (no proof, I need to check 1860 KS census). I had remembered seeing the name SILVILLA Buckman, so I check the 1880 census and found one in Kaweah & Mineral King, Tulare, California. She is listed by herself age 54 (1826) b. KY, Son Clement T., 21 b. KS, John E. 15 b. AZ and Enock J. 13, b. CA. If you have anything on John J. or Thad Buckman b. cal 1851/2 please let me know. I Hope the Silvilla info might help you in some way. M. H. Jones of Prospect, OR
