Hi Phil-
My aunt Betty sent me your family tree and photos. With your help and that of Richard Joseph Bucknum, I have managed to put together a fairly complete account of the Buckmans of Sangamon County (Farmingdale et al) and their origins with John Buckman of Boston in 1653. This includes my uncle Ben, who I believe is the same Ben of Rockford referred to by your correspondent. Incidentally, my mother's family (the Gills) emigrated from Scotland to Rockford, where my mother Margaret (Peggy) met my father (Stanley). I just posted the tree and genealogy on my web site at genealogy.com and would welcome any additions or corrections. Richard Bucknum has done an enormous amount of work, which anyone who has tried to construct a tree from scratch can attest to.
