Peter: You have the right person. I believe
the name has changed several times. Origin from Bugthorpe a parish in the east Riding of Yorkshire. In the Doomsday Book 1088 it is recorder as Buchetorp Bugetorp and many other spellings I guess. I think the person you have contacted if Carl. There are 2 others plus myself working on the name. It has been traced back to Richard around 1607.
