I'm actually not related to the Buenting family. The story behind the newspaper is that my parents who married during WWII saved the 9/3/1945 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette because it had stories about the historic signing of the Japanese surrender that ended WWII. I came across the old newspaper when moving a couple of months ago and being interested in genealogy, I posted dozens of death notices, and articles of interest such as the one relating to Airman Otto Buenting. I actually have no other information other than the Post-Gazette article but I'm hoping that you got something out of the posting that helps you in your family search.

Kindest regards,
Carol Minkel Movahed
