The farthest back I have traced my Buffalo line is Henry Buffalo b. abt. 1758 around the
Wake Co., NC area. The researchers who located him believed him to be English though each successive generation in the memory of any living family members has claimed to be Cherokee. I have wondered if it could have been an early connection in the 1600's or 1700's as many Cherokees simply changed their names and mingled with the general population in early NC. Where did you find this information? I thought there would be no records to find if this were the case.
