Cherokee Buffalo's in Wake N.C.

It seems so far that the conversation on this forum is stating that the Buffalo's (and variant spellings) are from Cherokee/Caucasion descent. Does anyone have a clue if any of the Wake Co., N.C. Buffalo's or their ancestors were on any of the Official Indian Rolls (such as the Dawes Roll or any other)?
I descend from Lucy Buffalo & Charles King, Jacob Jr. & Catherine Beasley, Jacob Sr. & Biddy/Beddy Brown, Steel (Sterling) Buffalo & Sarah Hutchins, & Arthur Buffelow. I was told by family members that they thought we were of Cherokee descent and I have found a lot of Cherokee's to have the Buffalo surname.
I would like to know one way or another whether I am a Cherokee descendant or not.
