Jeanette:I too have visited the pages of the Inferior Court records in Richmond County. The Jacob you speak of was the son of Edmund who married Obedience Hatcher in Mecklenburg County (where I now reside)in 1746. Edmund was the youngest son of Samuel Jr.He, his brother Sherwood, and his sister Ruth moved to Richmond County GA in 1768.According to what I could piece together (I have a Bugg book by one Charles O'Kelly Bugg which only lists the children and nothing past that point). In that court book you mention Charlotte (Tabler). She was the wife of Samuel, Jacob's brother, and they were married Dec 5, 1786, William Bugg security. The children of this Edmund:Samuel, Jacob, Priscilla (Sally) married Capt John Lamar, and Polly Bugg married Richard Johnson.I have no info on these children's children except Jacob who had Edmund Jr, Peter Turkenet, Samuel, Susannah, and Thomas Jefferson.I know you are going to raise your eyebrows on Edmund Jr.The only thing that fits is that these were to children of Jacob whose father was Edmund Sr. There were two more Edmunds at the time, the son of Sherwood and Edmund Jr born around 1750 in Lunenburg (now Mecklenburg) county. Jacob's wife died and he turned his children over to Samuel and Charlotte, then Samuel dies and they were passed to someone else. There are two different pages on the records of the inferior court on this and I can't find my notes concerning the particulars.I do know that Thomas Jefferson Bugg married Amelia Crawford Nov 19, 1823 in Augusta GA. I have their lineage to date if you need it.I won't swear on a stack of Bibles that what I have said is fact but it is the only thing that fits.Warm regards, Ronnie.P;s; e-mail me.
