2 May 1781—Engagement at New Savannah (Bugg’s Plantation)
near Augusta.
from the minutes of The Proceedings of The Governor's Council from 7 April to June 2 1767 following inclusive this information was found; Edmund Bugg approved 400 acrees on the side of Augusta.

Sherwood Bugg 50 acres approved-he has 12 Negroes. Land is on Savannah River above the mouth of Rocky Creek ,to join the land he purchased from Edward Barnard. Copy of the minutes of the proceedings of the Governor's Council from 6 Jan. 27 March 1767 following inclusive.(p.177) Also p.177 Sherwood Bugg 650 Acres approved in Feb. last he had 50 acres ordered him on Savannah River above the mouth of Rocky Creek to adjoin land lately purchased from Edward Barnard.Land is at Rocky Creek adj. land he purchased.

From the minutes of The Proceedings of The Governor'sCouncil from 7 April to June 2 following inclusive this information was found; Sherwood Bugg 300 acres approved ,he has a wife 8 children 3 negores. Land is lying on the water of Kioka Sreek and Cane creek,to begin at a Beech tree there marked"S' "B".
