Gwen, the plantation in Louisiana was in Claiborne parish near Haynesville. When you visit the site I mentioned in a previous post (http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/la/claiborn.htm) you should also check out the census records there. I'm trying to guess from 1870 census records (birth state) the migration patterns of the Buggs', both free and slave.
