Re: Bugg Plantations

Dear Connie, You caught me before getting away from the computer to fix dinner. And Yes! I would love for anyone who might be able to help verify their ancestry, Beulah, etc. I am trying to determine if, in fact, Samuel Bugg was the son of Capt. Jeremiah Bugg & Mary Robison (Bugg-Arrington-Hatcher). If so, any descendants of theirs would be "half" relations of ours, so to speak:)

The Bugg's, with all their Jeremiah's and Samuel's, make it very confusing. We have a transcript of "a" Jeremiah Bugg's will in which he names only son Samuel and wife Mary, dated 1786..which seems to fit as Capt. Jeremiah Bugg, husband of Mary Robison, died in 1787. But when Mary died many years later (after 2 more husbands), she makes no mention of any Bugg grandchildren, etc. She does mention my greatx3 grandmother, her granddaughter, Martha Watkins DeLaigle, but of course she had raised Martha and Martha's brothers, who had been left orphaned, so that could explain it. But it is bothersome, nonetheless.

I'll post below what I show of some of the descendants. It is wonderful of you to offer, and any help you or your family could give would be wonderful.

I have, over the course of the past four years, discovered the wonderful town of Augusta, home of so many of my ancestors, and present day relations. I will hopefully return there in May for another family reunion, and more research. I couldn't help but fall in love with it.

Thank you once again. Ginga Mylius (Birmingham, AL)

For now, I show that Samuel Bugg (son of Capt. Jeremiah & Mary) married Nancy Jones, and they had five children:

===================================================

|-2. Mary Anne Elizabeth (died an infant) BUGG (b.26 Dec 1807)

---------------------------------------------------

Here is what I have for Robert Watkins Bugg:
1. Robert Watkins BUGG (b.29 Apr 1817 d.18 Jun 1892)
sp: Caroline Cordelia Smith RHODES (b.31 Jul 1817 m.7 Jul 1836 d.27 Jul 1897-Richmond County,Augusta,GA) Their children wre Samuel Bugg; Louisa Elizabeth Bugg; William Jones Bugg; Moses Patterson Green Bugg; Rev. Alexander Hamilton Stephens Bugg; & Robert Watkins Bugg, Jr.

I know, from obituaries I've found and many others who have helped, about Samuel Bugg & Mary Kelly, and their children: Rev. Robert Watkins Bugg; Louisa "Lou" Elizabeth Bugg; Gerrard McLaughlin Bugg; Anna Gertrude Bugg; Beulah Clifford Bugg; Rosa Belle Bugg; Samuel Bugg; and William Henry Bugg.

Any corrections always appreciated.
