You may know this, but Ann "Nancy" Andrews was the daughter of Ephraim Andrews of Williamson Co., Tennessee. Benjamin Bugg was an executor of Ephraim's will and had an earlier land transaction with Ephraim Andrews.

Another of Ephraim Andrews' daughters,Elizabeth, married John Young.

There were two first cousin marriages between the children of Benjamin and Nancy Andrews Bugg and John and Elizabeth Andrews Young. William Young married Rebecca Bugg on March 1809 in Williamson County, Tennessee; and Ephraim Andrews Young married Mary "Polly" Bugg 14 May 1817 in Williamson Co., Tennessee.

John and Elizabeth Andrews Young's daughter Rebecca Young married John William Kyle. They were the parents of John Claiborne Kyle who married Lucy Bugg.

Lucy was apparently the right age to have been the daughter of Benjamin Bugg and Nancy Andrews, and given the close connection between the Bugg and Young families, Lucy certainly looks like a relative of some sort.

There were two Buggs on the 1830 census in Giles Co., Tennessee -- where the Kyle family was for the 1820 census. They were Robt. Bugg, age 20-29, and R. M. Bugg, age 20-29 (same fellow counted twice?). Robert Malone Bugg, the son of John Bugg and Sarah Malone was in Giles Co. during that period. As you know, John Bugg was the brother of Benjamin Bugg of Williamson Co. John also had a daughter Lucy b. 1808, but she apparently married James Mason Richardson and ended up in Maury Co., Tennessee.

I don't know if any of the above is helpful. If it is and you want more information, please email me.

I am trying to find information about an earlier Bugg-Young marriage. Samuel Bugg married Martha Young about 1768/1769 in Mecklenburg Co., Virginia. Martha was Samuel's much younger second wife. His first wife was Ann Hix. Samuel was the great-uncle of Benjamin Bugg, who married Nancy Andrews. I suspect Martha Young was the sister of John Young who married Elizabeth Andrews. Do you know anything about Martha Young?

Janice
