Thanks to someone named P from this site I found a E M Springer, age 10, on the 1880 Hickman census that shows a father of N W Springer. This woman would have been born about 1870 according to the repost. It has siblings of J Springer Sturgis with a son W G Sturgis, J D Springer, M E Springer, W H Springer, J H Springer and a mother listed as S Springer. The father is listed as 66 years old born in Tennessee but with his parents born in Kentucky and Tennessee. Does anyone recognize these people or have any idea what N. W. stands for.
I also found the family on the 1870 census but with only one child, JH at age 22.

Any help appreciated.
