Hi John, thanks so much for your reply to my post. I do have a few questions/observations to share with you. I have located Owen and Ann Gwathmey's gravesite in Cave Hill Cemetery. Their marker states Owen's death as Dec. 1, 1830. Thomas and Diana Bullitt's marker is in the same plot and states they had 13 children, which you name. I had eleven already. But you list two Alexanders and three Thomases. Is this correct? You did clear up one mystery for me. In the Gwathmey family plot there was a grave for a General Henry Atkinson. I did not know who he was until you provided that information. My interest in the Bullitt family is collateral. My gggf was Ferdinand Bullitt Priest, son of Lucy Clark Gwathmey and Peter Priest. Because of family naming patterns, I felt there had to be a strong connection to use it as his middle name. I am not sure if brother-in-law fits that description but that is the only connection I can find. If you know of something else, I would be very interested in learning about it. If I can be of any help to you, please let me know.
