Lydia Jane Bump/Solomon Allen/Salathiel Bump

For years I have been hunting for the parents of Lydia Bump, my husband's gr-gr-grandmother, 1822-1896. One source has her born in Orleans County, New York, another says she was born in Vermont. Her husband, Solomon Allen, was from Washington County, New York, just across the border from Rutland County, Vermont. They lived in Niagara, NY; Columbia, WI; and then in Union County, South Dakota. The only clue I have to her family is an invitation found in her granddaughter's papers. It is an invitation to the centennial celebration in 1891, the 100th anniversary of the settlement of Salathiel Bump in Salisbury, Vermont and the Fourteenth Triennial Family Meeting. I have read everything I could find on the descendants of Salathiel and have gone over and over the material of Lynn Albert Bumpus and the Bumpass brothers. I can never find a Lydia born in the right time period. I have no knowledge of any siblings. I know the answer is out there somewhere, but it has been my brick wall for a long time. Thanks for any ideas of how to knock this down! Sue Grable
