TOWNSEND -- Louise H. (Bump) Boyd Rivet, 90, of Townsend, died Thursday, April 29, 2010.

Mrs. Rivet was born in Wassiac, New York, January 22, 1920, a daughter of William and Louise (Michales) Bump and was proud to tell you that she grew up on a farm on Varnum Avenue in Lowell. She attended the Lowell School System.

Before moving to Townsend seven years ago, she resided in Plant City, Florida, Nashua New Hampshire and Springfield, Vermont.

Prior to her retirement in 1985, Mrs. Rivet worked for 12 years as an assembler at Coleman Corporation in Nashua, New Hampshire. During the 1950's, she owned and operated her own hair salon in North Chelmsford.

Mrs. Rivet remained active in many Senior Citizen activities in Townsend and was "Miss November" in the 2005 publishing of the "Atwood Cuties Calendar".

She was a longtime member of the North Chelmsford Congregational Church. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her grandson, Scott Boyd and his wife, Tracey of Townsend; two great-grandchildren, Emily E. Boyd and Matthew S. Boyd; a brother, Robert Bump of Port Charlotte, FL; and a sister, Dorothy Zimmer of Danvers.

She was the sister of the late Walter Bump, Charles Bump, Orrin Bump, William Bump, Gertrude Evans, and H. Irene LaPort.

She was predeceased by her two husbands, Earl Boyd in 1963, and Daniel O. Rivet in 2001, and her son, William H. Boyd in 1994.

RIVET -- A funeral service will be 11 am, Monday, May 3, 2010 at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main Street, (Rte. 119) Townsend Center. Please see for additional information. Burial will be private. A visitation period will be Monday from 10 am until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nashoba Nursing & Hospice Service, 2 Shaker Road, Shirley, MA 01464.
