I'm sorry, I re-read that and it sounded so condescending when I stated the obvious, I just meant that those dates pre-date the country, thus a lot of the landmarks and names have been changed since then, it makes the research a little harder, and when you find something odd, it could be a mistake, or it could be that something like a new county was formed, or a town faded away.
That and the fact that the family reveled in passing down names...over and over again...
